Our Story

From Rabbitbrush to Food

Folks Farm and Seed was born on our Folks' property in North Fort Collins. We were struggling to come up with a business name but kept saying "Heading up to the Folks place." Eventually Folks Farm stuck and has remained a mantra since 2019.

We now grow on 2.5 acres in Southwest Fort Collins providing nutrient-dense and organically grown food through our farm stand, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), a weekly farmers market, and local restaurants. We pride ourselves on being a fun and outgoing farm that provides the highest quality product.

Our growing practices apply regenerative farming and seed saving to grow delicious food in Fort Collins.

Beyond Organic Practices

Soil-First Regenerative Growing

We build fertility the slow way—feeding the soil with compost, cover crops, minimal disturbance, and diverse plantings—so our 2.5 acres in Fort Collins stay healthier every season (and the food tastes better because of it).

Regionally Adapted

We select and save seed from varieties that thrive here—meaning stronger plants, better flavor, and crops that are adapted to our climate, not a one-size-fits-all growing recipe.

Whole-Farm Care

“Beyond organic” isn’t a label—it’s a commitment: no shortcuts, no depleted soil, no farming that treats the land like a factory. We grow with biodiversity, pollinator habitat, and regenerative practices that keep our farm ecosystem thriving—not just our yields.
